Game the 'Free to Play' Industry: Designing for a live ‘Free to Play’ Game

This project analyses the free to play (F2P) principles through case studies of Bejeweled Blitz and Bejeweled Stars by deconstructing them using the following frameworks: player motivation and cohorts, analysis of the game’s core loop, in game systems, mechanics, economics, social elements, engagement system and minimal viability analysis. In addition to this, engagement, retention and monetization techniques are applied to the game systems.
