Through the course of his project, Nagendran focused on creating a menswear range with the objective to conceptualize, design and develop a sustainable line of knits, weaves and backpacks for the men’s wear segment. The product range aimed to cater to a new range of ‘clothing with a social cause’, resolving different issues created by the fashion industry in the past.
Sustainability is a much-needed path in the future of fashion and consumers have become very conscious about this approach. Keeping this in mind, a collection was developed in a specific price range to fulfil the requirement of sustainable apparel. Fabric, surfaces, silhouette and innovations were perceived and implemented accordingly. Samples of t-shirts, shirts, backpacks and graphic prints were developed. Design methodology included understanding the brand and the idea of sustainability and fashion along with a study of target consumers, user profiles and market, competitor and global trends.
