This graduation project at Wriver Design Studio explores light, materiality, and luxury design. Sculpting Light Through Material investigates how cast glass and cast aluminum, fragile yet strong, can form a collection of sculptural luminaires. Inspired by the flow and glimmer of water, the project aligns with Wriver’s bold forms and global sensibilities. Two design directions, experimental and bold, and subtle and timeless, guided ideation, prototyping, and refinement, addressing technical challenges while preserving the poetic essence of light. The resulting collection transforms luminaires from functional objects into immersive sensory experiences, evoking emotion, atmosphere, and a sense of luxury, while reinforcing the studio’s brand identity.
