This project is a journal style publication titled Garden Diaries: My Journey with Shrubs, documenting around 100 plant species across 59 plant families from a private garden. The book functions both as a practical growing guide and as a visual record of the garden, combining botanical information with personal anecdotes from the client’s journey as a plant collector. The design blends editorial structure with a journal like approach, focusing on clarity, visual richness, and thoughtful organisation. Digitally hand drawn illustrations form the core of the visual language, bringing each plant to life while supporting identification and learning. Field observation and contextual inquiry informed the content and layout decisions. The outcome is a publication that serves as an informative reference, a personal keepsake, and a creative exploration of how illustration and design can support environmental documentation and storytelling.
