This project focuses on designing educational kits for the Jatin Das Centre of Art (JDCA), a non-commercial institution in Bhubaneswar dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional and contemporary Indian art. The objective was to create engaging, activity-based learning kits that introduce children to Indian crafts while fostering curiosity, participation, and pride. Through an iterative and collaborative design process, two educational kits were developed—one on weaving and another on fan making. Each kit encourages hands-on interaction with materials, allowing children to learn through making and exploration. The project also involved designing intuitive instructional content and packaging that supports experiential learning. In addition, a cohesive visual language was developed for JDCA’s souvenir range to ensure consistency across educational and retail touchpoints. The outcome demonstrates how thoughtful design can make craft education accessible, interactive, and meaningful for young learners.
