This project explores how motion design can enhance user experience within the Niyo travel banking app by making interactions feel clearer, more consistent, and more human. While fintech products prioritise efficiency, they can often feel impersonal—especially for users managing finances while travelling. This project positions motion as a tool to add reassurance, feedback, and subtle delight without disrupting functionality. Research included internal interviews and surveys at Niyo, along with a study of motion guidelines from comparable digital products. Insights across user groups revealed key needs around assurance, consistency, and trust. Based on these findings, motion guidelines and interaction prototypes were developed in alignment with Niyo’s brand language. The outcome demonstrates how purposeful micro-interactions and animations can reduce friction, build user confidence, and make financial interactions feel more intuitive and engaging.
