Shaping the Invisible explores translating intangible narratives into tangible spatial experiences through scenography. The thesis introduces the Cascade Method, a linear, non-circular design framework emphasizing clarity, adaptability, and practical rigor. Using a comparative case study approach, eight projects at Scenography Sumant Studio, ranging from festivals and fashion shows to museum and civic installations, were analyzed to identify how narrative informs materiality, sequencing, circulation, lighting, and performative encounter.

The Cascade Method provides a structured pipeline that converts conceptual narratives into design decisions, enabling collaboration between designers, clients, and production teams. Large-scale projects demonstrate strategies for monumental symbolism and visitor choreography, while event-based works show how temporality fosters intimacy and immediacy. This approach bridges theory and practice, reaffirming the value of embodied spatial experience in an increasingly virtual world.
