Sutra is a speculative design project that explores how humans and plants might communicate to build a long-term, living memory system. Centered around the sacred Tulsi plant and a soft wristband made of woven fabric, Sutra proposes a wearable interface that senses bio-signals like heart rate and emotional states and feeds them into a companion plant. This system builds on the prior PANINe project, introducing a two-way relationship where humans and plants co-create memory together. Designed to be passed down across generations, the Sutra wristband and plant pair become a shared memory object within families, acting as a repository of feelings and physiological traces that connect grandchildren with the moods of their ancestors. Imagined as part of a national initiative under the Ministry of AYUSH, the project embeds plant intelligence within everyday rituals. Sutra offers a slower, more grounded alternative to digital saturation, rooted in the natural world and vernacular familiarity.
