The Information Age is defined by cyberspace, an abstract and interconnected domain where designers increasingly shape narratives, systems, and experiences rather than physical objects. With the rise of Large Language Models and generative AI, designers now engage with non-human systems governed by complex objective relationships rather than direct human intent. While AI represents a major scientific achievement, its applications can feel reductive and disconnected from lived experience, with long-term social and environmental consequences that are difficult to fully grasp. In this context, AI functions as a hyperobject, vast and unavoidable. This project proposes that designers must act as negotiators between objective digital systems and subjective human realities. The Hum embodies this philosophy as a design methodology grounded in reflection, systems thinking, and practice, enabling designers to engage with complexity and redefine their role in an increasingly interconnected digital world.
