This project is to explore, understand, and visually represent my mental and physical self, and that of my surroundings, using the concept of liminal spaces and liminality. This project aims to focus on themes such as emotional dislocation, identity fragmentation, and the tension between past and present selves. By using photography as a medium, I aimed to convey the complexity of these experiences and also produce work that not only speaks of my personal journey but also highlights the universal human experience of navigating such transitions and transitionary spaces. The project started with the aim of understanding liminality and categorising its various forms. But towards the end of the project, I came to the conclusion that certain concepts in life cannot be numbered, categorised , and clinically presented, and liminality is one such topic that can’t be completely understood but could only be felt in certain spaces on earth and in certain moments of life.
