Pietra is a collection of tables and storage units developed at Wriver Design Studio, exploring stone as a primary material in contemporary furniture design. The project was undertaken as part of the studio’s Eterno stylebook collection, which focuses on premium materials such as stone, leather, and metal. Inspired by the idea of outlines and framing, the designs treat stone not as a heavy or static element but as a sculptural and refined material capable of expressing luxury. Through the Figura sub-collection, the project examines stone’s texture, strength, and timeless character while balancing functionality and ergonomics. Research into global furniture brands, historic references, and current design trends informed the design language and detailing. The resulting pieces merge material honesty with modern aesthetics. The collection was showcased at India Design 2025, New Delhi, reinforcing stone’s relevance in upscale contemporary interiors.
