Neurarchive is a design-fiction probe that imagines a medium-term future where climate upheaval and mass displacement erode the material traces of culture. In this speculative scenario, the platform offers a service-based path for communities to repossess what might otherwise vanish. Users can capture two-dimensional artifacts, three-dimensional objects, entire spaces, or embodied skills, binding them to the narratives that give them meaning. By pairing each object with its story, Neurarchive ensures future audiences encounter heritage as a living continuum rather than a simple relic. The speculation stands on three pillars: archival rigor to safeguard provenance, communal stewardship to empower citizen archivists over distant institutions, and resilient generative technology like 3D volumetric reconstruction. The project is exhibited through two vignettes: a family heirloom (Aaji’s earrings) and a community-museum thread following the revival of Boru-making reed-pen craft. Ultimately, it shows how detailed records enable enthusiasts to rebuild lost skills and collective agency.
