This graduation project was developed for Designed by Nalli, a contemporary label by heritage brand Nalli Silks. Focused on a Summer Wedding Collection, the aim was to blend timeless craftsmanship with modern aesthetics for a younger, urban audience. I explored Kanchipuram and Banaras textiles, alongside embroidery, to create concepts, mood boards, motifs, and sari layouts. Artificial intelligence was integrated as a generative tool, expanding the motif vocabulary while ensuring production feasibility. Although travel to textile clusters was limited, collaboration with the family run design team offered insights into balancing legacy with agility. The project enhanced my understanding of the Indian textile industry from market trends to production constraints and reinforced my commitment to creating meaningful, ethical designs rooted in craft, textiles, and design systems.
