This project presents a comprehensive study of how game meta and economy shape player experience, combining research, comparative analysis, design exploration, and hands-on development. Titled Application of Game Meta and Economy in Game Systems, the project investigates how these systems influence player engagement and emotional investment, and how they can be designed to feel intuitive, purposeful, and meaningful. To support this inquiry, an original game concept titled Fiore was developed. Fiore is a 2D single-player puzzle-narrative game in which players restore a forgotten land by placing tiles that bloom into natural forms. Each action is tied to a limited resource economy, encouraging strategic thinking while maintaining a calm, storybook tone. The game functions as a design experiment to study how layered systems and narrative fragments guide player agency. By reflecting on Fiore, the project bridges theory and practice, offering insights for future game design research and application.
