This graduation project focuses on the fashion label Nikasha, founded in 2006 by Nikasha Tawadey Khemka, known for blending traditional Indian crafts, textiles, and prints with contemporary design. The study involved a comprehensive analysis of the brand’s product categories through archival research, interviews with key internal team members, and final validation by the founder to ensure accuracy. Alongside this, trend research was conducted to forecast festive wear for 2025, examining colours, silhouettes, fabrics, prints, and motifs. A key case study, the Tara collection, highlights the use of sustainable handwoven textiles such as jamdani and chanderi, traditional motifs, and vibrant yet nuanced colour palettes, combined with modern silhouettes and rich ornamentation. Drawing from brand identity, product mapping, and trend insights, the project proposes a festive-season collection that is commercially viable while remaining rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and cultural storytelling, reflecting the evolving aspirations of the modern Indian woman.
