Mr. Vipul Vinzuda
This graduation project, undertaken with support from the Railway Design Center, explores future-facing interior design possibilities for India’s high-speed rail, positioning design as an active contributor to global climate action. Rooted in eco-design philosophy, the project places nature as a primary stakeholder, moving beyond conventional user-centric approaches. Drawing inspiration from Indian temple architecture, classical music, Vedic literature, and vernacular architecture, the interior concept translates Indian philosophical thought into symbolic, contemporary spatial expressions. The design reflects India’s eclectic cultural identity while aligning aesthetics with sustainability and environmental responsibility from the earliest design stages. Extensive cultural research informed conscious material, form, and spatial decisions, enabling a holistic synthesis of tradition and innovation. Beyond a design proposal, the project became a reflective journey of cultural understanding, creative exploration, and personal growth, demonstrating how heritage-led, nature-centered design can shape meaningful, future-ready public infrastructure.
