This graduation project presents two curated Indo-Western occasion wear collections—Goa Rani and Mehbooba—developed in collaboration with Label Nikasha for destination weddings, festive gatherings, and contemporary Indian celebrations. The project explores the fusion of handcrafted Indian textiles with modern silhouettes and global sensibilities. Goa Rani is a destination wedding resort wear collection inspired by vintage matchbox rose series. Addressing a gap in the Indian resort wear market, the collection targets young, globally aware women seeking relaxed yet elegant occasion wear. It focuses on original print development featuring rose and diamond motifs, complemented by handcrafted tassels, fabric fringes, and surface embellishments, emphasizing sustainability through material reuse. Mehbooba is a Khadi revival collection developed under a government initiative to promote hand-spun fabrics and showcased at FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week 2025. Using khadi cotton, tussar linen, matka silk, and Kota Doria, the collection highlights textured layering, ombrés, metallic detailing, and artisanal embroidery. Together, the collections demonstrate a strong understanding of textile innovation, surface development, and culturally rooted yet contemporary fashion design.
