INSUFLO is an affordable insulin pump concept rooted in biomedical device design and Indian healthcare realities. It addresses diabetes management as a continuous, demanding routine requiring precision, resilience, and dignity. Insulin pumps enable Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion, closely mimicking natural insulin release to improve glycemic control, quality of life, and lifestyle flexibility. Yet in India, adoption remains below one percent due to prohibitive costs exceeding ?6 lakhs, recurring consumable expenses, limited awareness, and lack of localized solutions. INSUFLO reimagines the insulin pump as an accessible, user centric system for resource constrained settings. The solution comprises a durable pump body housing electronics, display, and controls, paired with a low cost disposable infusion set containing tubing and cannula. Designed to be worn discreetly using clips, pouches, or belts, and operable via a remote interface, INSUFLO positions the insulin pump not merely as a medical device, but as an affordable and lifestyle integrated healthcare solution for India.
