This graduation project explores the design of a limited-time live event for FarmVille 3 that introduces a new gameplay loop to enhance player engagement through crafting, trading, and tile-based exploration. Responding to evolving expectations in casual farming games for layered systems, short-term goals, and meaningful progression, the project analysed FarmVille 3’s core mechanics to identify gaps in the integration of crafting, orders, and events. This was supported by a comparative market study of leading casual and farming games, examining event structures, reward pacing, and content reuse. Player personas were developed based on motivations, playtime, and spending behaviours to balance accessibility and depth. The proposed event merges multiple systems into a cohesive loop where players gather resources, craft items, complete timed and regular orders, and unlock a grid-based exploration mini-game to discover relics. The design extends existing systems while offering a scalable framework for future seasonal events.
