The project “Tiny Business Design: The Art of Starting Creative Side Businesses” examines why aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those without prior experience, struggle to turn ideas into action. Many individuals have a hobby, passion project, or craft they wish to transform into a small business but face fear, confusion, or lack of support. Through secondary research on the history of business, its roots in India, and the psychology of hobbies, and primary research via interviews with experts in company law, psychology, and hiring, the study maps the journey from idea to attempted business launch. Insights informed the creation of a system map of the tiny business ecosystem, highlighting both internal and external business systems and the founder’s perspective. The project proposes a practical framework for entrepreneurship, including tools like an Idea Evaluation Journal, a Fear Setting Canvas, and a Tiny Business Canvas, fostering innovation, effective design management, and successful small business creation.
