This project explores the intersection of traditional and modern sculptural practices through the exhibition Outside In: Meera Mukherjee and Jaidev Baghel. As the exhibition designer, the focus was on creating a spatial narrative that reflects evolving interpretations of Indian art. The exhibition brings into dialogue two artists connected through the Dhokra technique: Mukherjee’s modernized bronze casting and Baghel’s sculptural practice rooted in the Ghadwa community of Chhattisgarh. Their juxtaposition examines how traditional methods transform into contemporary expressions.

Developed over 16 weeks, the project involved close collaboration with curatorial, conservation, collections, inclusion, and education teams, offering insight into museum operations and interdisciplinary workflows. Exhibition content was translated into spatial strategies encompassing display, circulation, lighting, graphics, and accessibility, emphasizing visitor engagement and layered interpretation within the museum context.
