YAVA, inspired by the Sanskrit word for “barley,” represents a compact, sustainable mobility solution for India’s future smart cities. This project explores the design and development of an Electric Compact Autonomous Personal Mobility Vehicle (E-CAPMV) that addresses urban congestion and single-occupancy vehicle challenges. YAVA is a fully autonomous, single-seater electric vehicle optimized for spatial efficiency and energy use, integrating intelligent navigation, decision-making, and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) connectivity for safe, seamless urban commuting. Beyond functionality, the project emphasizes user experience, enabling commuters to disengage from driving while interacting meaningfully with their environment. By combining autonomous technology, human-centered design, and sustainability, YAVA redefines personal transportation, offering a practical, eco-friendly, and emotionally engaging solution. The project contributes to the vision of smart, coordinated, and efficient urban mobility tailored for Indian cities.
