AIxDesign is a Research through Design project that explores how Artificial Intelligence and design are deeply entangled. Volume one, Ecology of AI, conducts a systemic inquiry into how intelligence is framed, shifting the view of AI from a standalone tool to an ecological network of relations. Through diagrams, metaphors, and mental models, it surfaces hidden assumptions, dominant narratives, and alternative perspectives, proposing a new grammar for engaging with AI through Systems Oriented Design. The volume concludes with an ecological manifesto that invites designers to critically and imaginatively position themselves within AI ecosystems. Volume two, Logbook, represents the Experimental praxis of the project. It documents workshops, participatory experiments, and lived engagements using Design Futures methods. This volume captures uncertainties, collaborations, and tensions, revealing AI as an evolving design material. Together, the volumes form a reflective framework and practical resource, encouraging designers to adopt systemic, plural, and future-facing approaches to Artificial Intelligence.
