This graduation project was undertaken at Asian Paints, Mumbai, over a period of seven months, with the objective of designing a curated wedding bedsheet gifting collection. The project aimed to reinterpret traditional Indian wedding gifting practices by creating bedsheets that combine functional utility with emotional and aesthetic value. Historically associated with maternal gifting, bedsheets are now commonly exchanged by friends, relatives, and colleagues, indicating a shift in consumer behaviour and gifting expectations. Primary research through surveys and interviews was conducted to understand preferences, emotional associations, and usage contexts related to wedding gifts. The insights revealed a demand for thoughtfully designed products that balance beauty, practicality, and sentiment. These findings informed the development of a collection that blends traditional symbolism with contemporary design sensibilities. The final outcome positions wedding bedsheets as meaningful gifts that celebrate love, unity, and new beginnings within evolving social and cultural contexts.
