This graduation project explores a contemporary porcelain jewellery collection inspired by the biodiversity of the Konkan region, developed in collaboration with Ithé, a design studio focused on material-led storytelling. Drawing from Konkan’s lush vegetation, laterite soils, coastal rhythms, and organic textures, the project translates regional visual and sensory cues into refined porcelain wearables. Traditionally perceived as fragile, porcelain is reimagined here as a material of strength, resilience, and narrative expression. Developed during field immersion in Devrukh, the collection reflects both ecological and cultural contexts, grounding design outcomes in place-based research. Organic forms, subtle tonal palettes, and textural details embody porcelain’s dual qualities of translucency and durability. Aligned with Ithé’s research-driven ethos, the project positions jewellery as wearable art, bridging craft, culture, and nature, while expanding contemporary discourse around regional inspiration and material innovation in jewellery design.
