With India’s rapidly growing senior population, there is a pressing need for accessible, user-friendly designs that support independence, safety, and dignity. Sponsored by MagickHome and developed in Bangalore, this project focuses on designing modular wardrobes for seniors, informed by extensive research into their behaviors and needs. The wardrobes are conceived as supportive tools, independent, inclusive, and intuitive, simplifying daily routines while fostering continuity and comfort. Beyond storage, they enable seniors to live with autonomy and confidence, aligning with the WHO’s UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030). Collaboration with MagickHome ensured manufacturability while deepening insights into materials, systems, and production. The project demonstrates how empathetic, research-driven design can enhance everyday life for older adults in urban residential spaces.
