Peech-wind Kinetics explores how the unpredictable force of wind can be translated into expressive motion through sculpture. Designed for public spaces, the project transforms urban and natural landscapes into interactive art sites that celebrate natural forces. A primary challenge was developing a mechanism for smooth, reliable movement, which involved investigating bearing housings, structural angles, and material choices. The work encompassed mapping movement typologies, iterative prototyping, and engineering for safety and longevity in diverse weather conditions. Addressing durability and structural stability, the project ensures the wind sculpture integrates safely into public environments while maintaining a poetic aesthetic. By converging design, mechanics, and environmental interaction, the project creates functional yet evocative experiences for varied audiences. Ultimately, it demonstrates how kinetic energy can be harnessed to engage communities with their surroundings, turning an invisible force into a tangible, captivating display of motion that enhances the quality and interactivity of public urban spaces.
