Silver Jubilee is a deeply personal animated short film that reflects on memory, emotion, and the fragile bond between my mother and me. It is a story of how unspoken feelings and the distance between generations shape relationships, where memory becomes both a gentle comfort and a haunting presence. Through vivid visual metaphors such as a symbolic horse that stands as a guardian, shifting textures that capture changing emotions, and colours that echo the layers of time, the film reveals the mother’s inner world alongside the son’s effort to understand her. The narrative slowly builds to a turning point when a pearl necklace accidentally breaks. This moment carries a quiet but powerful weight, embodying fragility, loss, and the delicate nature of human connections. At its heart, Silver Jubilee is both an artistic exploration of storytelling through animation and a heartfelt tribute to the emotions that often remain unspoken within families.
