KAVARCHA is a psychological fiction short film set in a dimly lit pawn shop, exploring greed, prejudice, and the cyclical nature of oppression. Ravi, a cold and calculative younger brother, and Mohan, his hardened older sibling, run the family business with classist and ruthless attitudes. One night, an old man enters, demanding a gold chain pawned by his late wife. Refusal escalates into a tense standoff, revealing the man as a twisted reflection of Mohan, forcing the brothers to confront their past and the consequences of their actions.
The narrative uses the heist scenario as a metaphor for exploitation and moral reckoning, blurring the lines between victim and oppressor, and emphasizing that the past cannot simply be pawned away.
