Misal is a tender, character-driven short film exploring the unexpected bond between Sourabh (27) and Pushpa (53), two strangers meeting in a small-town court while awaiting counseling for their divorces. Despite differences in age and life experience, they connect over shared vulnerability, reflecting on love, loss, societal expectations, and personal growth. Casual conversations evolve into deeper dialogue, as Pushpa’s lived experience challenges Sourabh’s understanding of relationships and masculinity, while his openness allows both to find healing in the present. The film’s title, Misal, a layered Maharashtrian dish, symbolizes human relationships: complex, flavorful, messy, yet beautiful. Set in everyday spaces, the story celebrates serendipitous encounters, quiet emotional intimacy, and the courage to embrace new beginnings even amidst endings.
