This Master of Design thesis, sponsored by TVS Motor Company, explores the future of personal mobility through the Nex Gen Ntorq 2035—an advanced ICE scooter envisioned for riders who seek emotional connection, craftsmanship, and identity beyond mere convenience. In an era dominated by electrification, the project deliberately repositions the internal combustion engine as a conscious lifestyle choice rather than a nostalgic fallback. Through research into user behaviour, cultural shifts, and future design trends, the project celebrates the raw, sensory qualities of ICE—sound, vibration, torque, and mechanical tactility—as sources of rider engagement. The concept integrates exposed structures, premium materials, and intuitive yet tactile interfaces to elevate the riding experience.
