“Ek Baate Ki Baat” translates to “The tale of a trail”. The story is set in a village of Kumaon region in Uttarakhand. Phulma, an elderly lady finds herself in the midst of an encounter with “Aidi Mashaan”, a demon feared throughout the region. Aidi’s terror is reinforced throughout the village by folk stories & superstitions that stood the test of time. When Aidi & his ghostly procession is about to reach Phulma’s doorstep, everyone rushes inside. Phulma notices her cow ‘Bhuri’ is left in the front yard. This gives Phulma the courage to confront Aidi and even scold him for destroying their land and grain. Aidi, unaware of all these myths about himself, rejects the superstitions & puts his case forward.
