This graduation project examines motion as a strategic component of brand identity in digital products. Conducted at DevRev as part of the Master of Design program at the National Institute of Design, the project aimed to develop a motion design system that extends the brand identity beyond static visuals. Grounded in the idea that design evolves through adaptation, the project studied existing motion frameworks to understand how movement, rhythm, and transitions create clarity and familiarity. These principles were reinterpreted to align with DevRev’s brand values and product environment. Through iterative experimentation and prototyping - covering typography motion, gradients, transitions, and micro-interactions - the system explored how motion can communicate hierarchy, feedback, and personality. Regular reviews with designers and engineers informed refinement. The final outcome is a structured motion design system defining principles, timing standards, and reference examples, serving as a bridge between design and engineering and positioning motion as a core communicative element of user experience.
