In India’s dynamic e-commerce landscape, checkout is a critical touchpoint influencing user trust, convenience, and purchase completion. Razorpay’s Magic Checkout helps merchants streamline payments, yet small and medium businesses struggle to match the seamless experiences offered by giants like Amazon. This project, in collaboration with Razorpay, reimagines the checkout experience for diverse Indian users—including teens, homemakers, elderly shoppers, rural buyers, and working professionals—focusing on inclusivity, context-awareness, and ease of use. Features like delegated payments, PIN-based address autofill, delivery scheduling, and social proof address real-world behaviors and pain points. The thesis explores persona-responsive design, inclusive fintech practices, and checkout optimization strategies, aiming to position the checkout flow not just as a transactional step but as a strategic growth lever. By combining usability insights, user research, and design thinking, the project proposes a framework that enhances both merchant performance and buyer experience in India’s evolving digital commerce ecosystem.
