This graduation project explores how Samsung can redefine mobile photo and video editing for Generation Z through generative AI. As digital natives, Gen Z expects creative tools that are fast, intuitive, and personalized, yet existing solutions often oscillate between complex manual controls and generic one-tap filters. The project addresses this gap by envisioning Nova, an AI-powered editing assistant embedded within Samsung Gallery. Nova adapts to user context and offers intelligent, personalized prompts that simplify complex edits while preserving creative control. Users can apply instant edits, explore contextual suggestions, or interact conversationally to express specific creative goals. The design process combined secondary research, market analysis, and primary user studies to understand Gen Z’s editing behaviors and aspirations. By aligning Samsung’s AI and imaging capabilities with Gen Z’s desire for effortless yet expressive creativity, the project positions editing as a fluid storytelling experience rather than a technical task.
