"With rapid urbanization, metro cities increasingly face compact apartments and small business spaces where air circulation is minimal. Densely packed buildings restrict natural air ventilation, leading to stagnant indoor environments and rising indoor air pollution. Poor air quality directly impacts health and well being, causing respiratory discomfort, fatigue, and reduced productivity, especially for people living or working in affordable, poorly ventilated spaces.
Home That Breathes addresses this challenge through an affordable design approach to improve indoor airflow. The project involved on-ground research across Delhi, studying student PGs, rented homes, cloud kitchens, salons, and clinics through interviews, surveys, and product benchmarking. Key insights revealed the need for a simple, cost-effective solution that enhances ventilation in compact interiors. The design process progressed from problem identification to concept development and prototyping, resulting in an efficient air ventilator that improves indoor air quality, supports healthier living, and enhances comfort in small urban spaces."
