The final phase of NID’s Apparel Design curriculum culminates in a graduation project that bridges academic theory and industry practice. This project was conducted with Barisceano, a startup under Aestin International Pvt. Ltd., providing a unique opportunity to navigate the creative and operational complexities of a nascent brand. As Barisceano’s debut designer, I was tasked with building a cohesive design identity from the ground up. The process involved extensive market research, including competitor analysis and trend forecasting for the US and UK markets. These insights informed the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, ensuring the designs aligned with its strategic market positioning. The project underscored the importance of adaptability and innovation in a startup environment. By balancing design thinking with business strategy, I successfully translated research into a commercially viable collection, reinforcing my understanding of the vital intersection between aesthetic design and business operations.
