This degree project explores the integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into the everyday smartphone experiences of the younger half of Generation Z (born between 1996–2012). Recognizing Gen Z as digital natives shaped by rapidly evolving technologies, the project aims to identify meaningful GenAI-driven interventions that enhance daily digital interactions. Central to the study is an in-depth understanding of Gen Z’s psychology, behaviors, expectations, and relationship with technology. The research examines how this cohort currently perceives and uses GenAI-powered applications, uncovering gaps between existing solutions and user needs. A mixed-method research approach was adopted, combining desk research spanning academic literature, market trends, and user feedback with primary research through interviews and opinion studies. Insights from this process helped narrow the focus to key areas such as productivity and time management. The project contributes to the discourse on GenAI and user experience design by proposing opportunities for seamless, routine-oriented AI integration tailored to a dynamic and influential user group.
