This UX research pilot at Hugosave, a Singapore fintech, explored embedding user centricity to advance UX Maturity Integration. Conducted under NID’s Strategic Design Management programme, it aimed to move Hugosave from “Structured” to “Integrated” UX maturity, where research drives strategy and product decisions. Secondary research mapped Singapore’s fintech landscape, while primary, cohort based interviews (ages 18 to 35) revealed four Behavioural Archetypes: Spectator, Gambler, Surfer, and Sage, highlighting differences in financial literacy, risk appetite, and adoption behaviour. Organisationally, the pilot established a formal Research & Analytics Department and implemented User Centric Process Frameworks, including SOPs, recruitment, and data repositories. Strategically, insights informed Fintech Personalisation Strategies: enhancing onboarding, simplifying investment journeys, building trust, integrating gamification, and tailoring solutions to user life stages. The initiative demonstrates that systematic, context driven research catalyses organisational transformation, embedding user centricity across strategy, operations, and product innovation while driving adoption, engagement, and sustainable growth.
