This industrial design project reimagines the under the counter water purifier for Indian households, addressing both end users and service technicians. Despite their promise of clean water and clutter free kitchens, current purifiers often struggle with cramped cabinet spaces, complex installation, difficult filter replacement, and limited serviceability. Through primary research, user interviews, and field observations, the study revealed that while homeowners benefit from purified water, technicians are critical for installation and maintenance, making them an essential user group. Insights highlighted the demand for compact size, premium aesthetics, vertical filter alignment, and shockproof construction. The resulting product design emphasizes space efficiency, ergonomic handling, and service friendly layouts. Features include intuitive filter compartments, streamlined forms that integrate seamlessly into modern kitchens, and improved service interactions. Prototyping and mockups refined ergonomics and functionality, ensuring the water treatment system is convenient, reliable, and visually appealing for both users and technicians.
