This project focuses on designing functional and space-efficient institutional furniture for government schools in India, where limited infrastructure often restricts collaborative learning and extracurricular activities. The objective was to create student-centric furniture that supports group learning, comfortable posture during prolonged seating, and flexible use of space. Through an understanding of early-stage education and the growing importance of co-learning and communication skills, the project proposes modular and multifunctional furniture solutions that can adapt to varying classroom needs. Designed to optimize limited areas, the furniture enables easy reconfiguration for collaborative and activity-based learning while maintaining durability and practicality. Sponsored by Methodex Systems Pvt. Ltd., the project aligns with the company’s expertise in systems thinking and large-scale furniture manufacturing, aiming to redefine classroom environments by balancing functionality, flexibility, and efficient space utilization.
