This 6-month sponsored project was undertaken at Universal Textile Mills Jaipuria Silk Mills Pvt. Ltd., a leading Indian textile export house specializing in high quality home furnishing fabrics, including drapery, upholstery, and trims. The project involved developing two main collections alongside additional explorations based on diverse client briefs. The Autumn/Winter 25/26 collection, created for the European brand Casamance, drew inspiration from WGSN’s Soulful Expressions and Creative Resilience, translating layered visual narratives into coordinated textile designs. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection, for Colefax and Fowler in the UK, was inspired by Mughal architecture and global trends in Regenerative Culture and Soft Power, incorporating geometric and ornamental motifs. The process encompassed UTM’s design methodology, in-depth research, motif development, and digital translation of artwork into product-scale designs. Using mediums from hand-drawing to digital tools, the project enhanced creative exploration, technical skills, and understanding of market-driven textile design, including drapery, trims, upholstery, and home furnishing exports.
