This project, developed in collaboration with A.O. Smith India, reimagines the horizontal water heater for the modern Indian home, elevating it from a utilitarian appliance to a refined element of bathroom interiors. Historically overlooked, water heaters often present challenges in aesthetic integration and user interaction. Through a deep dive into consumer behavior and market trends, this research-led design focuses on tactile engagement, smart interface integration, and user-centric innovation. The resulting concept balances high-performance energy efficiency with a compact, visually sophisticated form factor that resonates with both domestic and premium hospitality spaces. By harmonizing manufacturing feasibility with emotional product engagement, the project demonstrates how technical functionality can be humanized through thoughtful industrial design.
