This project focuses on CMF DESIGN and MATERIAL INTELLIGENCE for refrigerators tailored to the Indian market. Through extensive RESEARCH into consumer preferences and trends, three refrigerator collections were developed, each exploring five distinct design directions. The aim was to craft SURFACE DESIGN that resonates with Indian lifestyles, moving beyond textiles to materials like metal and glass. These materials enabled exploration of depth, reflection, texture, and subtle gradients, creating visually rich and tactile surfaces. My three-year background in textile design at NID, with advanced courses in print and weaving, honed my ability to compose designs that interact meaningfully with spatial and functional contexts. A hands on NID project further deepened understanding of material behavior, opacity, reflectivity, and sheen. During my Whirlpool internship, I applied these insights in real-time projects, reinforcing the importance of design solutions that balance aesthetics with manufacturability.
