This project focuses on designing a functional and market-sensitive range of study tables for Hometown (HT Interior), informed by the needs and aspirations of Indian users. Through market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and on-ground user research, the project examined how people interact with their study environments and identified gaps between user expectations and existing market offerings. These insights guided design decisions that balanced user behaviour with commercial feasibility. The project provided hands-on exposure to the realities of the design industry, including mass manufacturing processes, vendor coordination, and production planning. It highlighted how timelines, scalability, and collaboration influence design outcomes. A key learning was understanding how behavioural insights can add value beyond aesthetics and ergonomics, enabling furniture to actively support learning and productivity. The final outcome positions the study table not merely as a functional object, but as a purposeful product designed to enhance everyday study experiences while remaining durable, scalable, and market-ready.
