"InsuFlo – Strategic Business Design" develops a sustainable ecosystem for an affordable insulin pump system and its companion InsuWear products, emphasizing universal design. Originating as a graduation project at IISc Bangalore, it addresses challenges of cost, usability, adherence, and social stigma in insulin delivery, particularly for resource-constrained users in India. Research through literature, interviews, and immersion highlighted systemic gaps, guiding a user-in-the-loop approach to hardware prototypes, culminating in a compact, low-power insulin pump validated via ethically approved trials. Concurrently, manufacturable designs with optimized tolerances were explored. The project integrates Business Model Canvas, value chain analysis, and universal design frameworks to propose an inclusive, culturally resonant delivery ecosystem. Strategic service blueprints, stakeholder KRAs, and pricing studies inform a viable go-to-market approach. InsuFlo demonstrates how healthcare innovation can merge product design, systemic strategy, and user-centered principles to deliver affordable, scalable, and meaningful interventions for chronic conditions in emerging markets.
