This graduation project explores the potential of sisal as a versatile material for home organisation products, responding to the growing demand for sustainable and refined natural fibres in home décor. Traditionally used in rugs and carpets, sisal was re-examined for its application in lifestyle accessories through material exploration, form experimentation, and product development. The project aimed to design a cohesive range of sisal-based home organisers aligned with the aesthetic sensibilities of Zara Home while remaining feasible within the manufacturing capabilities of Neytt. The methodology focused on understanding material behaviour, category evolution, and production constraints. Extensive experimentation across fibre, yarn, and fabric formats informed the visual language and functionality of the final designs. The project demonstrates that sisal’s structural strength, tactile quality, and sustainability make it suitable beyond conventional uses. The final collection repositions sisal as a material that fulfils functional, emotional, and aesthetic needs in contemporary home organisation.
