This graduation project focuses on improving premium feature adoption within Adobe Acrobat by designing a low-friction trial model for free users. Despite a large user base, over 40% of users remain dormant in the free tier, and opt-in rates for the existing 7-day free trial are low due to high perceived effort and unclear value. The project proposes Micro Trials - contextual, limited-access trials that allow users to experience a relevant premium feature based on their behavior and immediate needs. The process involved user research, product audits, stakeholder workshops, and the evaluation of three trial formats against criteria such as user effort, perceived value, scalability, and business alignment. The final framework was validated through a detailed user journey and MVP proposal aligned with Adobe’s Product-Led Growth principles. The project deepened understanding of UX design for monetization, behavioral triggers, and experimentation within complex, large-scale product ecosystems.
