Jamun is a poignant animated short that explores the intimate, symbiotic relationship between three children and the ancient trees inhabiting their front yard. Through the eyes of youth, the film illustrates how trees are not merely static elements of the landscape but living archives of family history, their growth inextricably linked to the milestones of human lives. As urban development encroaches upon their sanctuary, the children witness the devastating felling of their beloved Jamun tree. This loss serves as a harsh awakening to the environmental cost of "progress." Deeply affected, the siblings are gripped by a growing anxiety for the survival of the remaining trees and the future of their natural world. Their grief transforms into a series of piercing, unresolved questions directed at the adults who sanction such destruction. Ultimately, Jamun leaves the audience to ponder the high cost of displacement and the vital importance of preserving the natural heritage we often take for granted.
