This project focuses on designing contemporary ceramic tableware for modern urban households and young users. Developed in collaboration with Box Turtle Ceramics, the project combines handcrafted studio aesthetics with everyday usability through thoughtful form development and material exploration. The outcome includes two bowl-centric collections, Alora and Riva, created as iterative responses to user insights and studio production capabilities. The Alora Collection features five lidded serving bowls designed with attention to function, grip, nesting, and ease of use in compact homes. The Riva Collection is a nesting set of versatile bowls that blends refined handmade finishes with a subtle luxury appeal. Hand-painted details and integrated wooden lids add warmth and material value. The project documents the complete design process, from user research and ideation to form exploration, sampling, and glaze testing, grounded in studio-based making. Together, the collections bring mindful, design-led utility to contemporary homes.
